Danny, We just got the news that
your dad has taken that great trip just beyond the veil that he had longed and trusted his Lord to bring to pass at the appointed time for him. He had fought as Paul said "The good fight", and he has won. He is the victor, not the enemy of his life that it seems for now he won. But there is coming a grand day that you, your family, the saints there in the fellowship, with you will see JOHN again.
And oh what a day that will be, not only JOHN, but the ONE that is the love of our life, The Lord Jesus. God bless you, your family and your mom is our prayer.

Dear Stemen Family,
May God comfort you and strengthen you during this time of earthly grief and heavenly joy. Bro John will surely be missed on this side but oh what a gathering of witnesses received him on the other side. He has gained and we have lost a gallant soldier for The Lord! May the God of peace be your help during the coming days! You all are in our thoughts and prayers!

It was in the dead of winter - Ohio, January 1976, when I first met Brother John. Bro. Ed Byskal was holding meetings at the YMCA in Lima and took along his freshly minted son-in-law - my first "away" meetings after coming to Christ. We visited in the late '80's in Sarasota, and still have such warm memories of the hospitality of the family and the church. The picture that we hold in our minds' eye of Brother John is the quiet, kind, tenacious man of God with that warm smile and welcoming spirit.
We know that you will miss him so much, but how rich your lives are as a result of his influence on his natural and spiritual family.
You are in our prayers...

“Life of great men all remind us that we can make our life sublime; and departing, leave behind us footprints on the sands of time”.
Through the many years of service to His Lord, Bro John has left footprints as a reminder to us all ... "that we can make our life sublime..."
The trials and testing of his faith forged the character of Christ which he took with him across Jordan, March 4th. However, he left behind a wonderful testimony that will continue to encourage and challenge those that knew him.
May the God of all comfort strengthen the family with His presence.

We have known you for a very short time, but we feel like you have been in our hearts forever. At this time, our hearts beat as one. It has been a privilege to share this time with you. May our Lord bring you comfort; for we know that in a very short time we'll be rejoicing with Bro. John again, in a land where there will be no more tears and no more pain.

I did not know Br. John. But I know the best reflection of a pastor is his church and his church is very kind, loving, and on-fire for God! And that don't happen by itself. Bro. John has met his reward!

It has been a privilege to have known Bro. John and all the Stemen Family for the past 25 years. It has also been an honor to have have such a man of God as my Pastor for many of those years and I am proud of him and the Godly life he has lived, Faithful,
true, and a real testimony of the Glorious Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. A real Solider of the Cross, he always pointed us to our Lord and Savior, and never to anyone else. I can TRULY say of Brother John; as our Prophet Brother Branham said, he preached the same as
the Apostle Paul did. I will miss you greatly Brother John and I am so glad
that I too had the opportunity to talk and pray with you in church recently and to see you just before your crossing over the river. Truly, "All is Well" and you have now
received your healing. I anxiously, by God's Mercy and Grace, await to see you again on the other side of the river, and I too will be proud and yet so humble to stand by you on that day, as you represent me and the rest of the
saints you have shepherded over these years. "I love you."

My condolence to the Stemen family and all the believers there. My prayers are with you all at this time. Brother John Stemen was the most humble man of God I ever met. To me he proved God dwells in humility. I will miss him too. But I know your hearts are comforted, knowing he now must better off than all of us.
I love you all. It's always a blessing for me to come to Sarasota, You people are so nice, kind and easy to preach to.

When I first met Bro. John and his family, I experienced a piece of heaven on Earth. With all the loving kindness and warm welcomes. His character, and
that of his family, made me realize I wanted my children to grow up under his ministry. Bro. John's ministry has been a beautiful gift from the Lord to me. I will miss him immensely, and just like Sis. Diana mentioned "He has always been a gentleman, going ahead to hold doors open for me," and for his flock. And as he himself would often state, I know that All Is Well!

family, and House Of Fellowship, Just want to say we were so
sorry to hear of the passing of Bro. John. We know you all
are going to miss him very much. You could not have asked
for a better example of the Bride as Bro. John was. I know
we truly will miss him. What a joyous time he is having now.
It won't be long and we will get to join him there. Looking
so forward to that day. We have been praying for you all and
will continue to pray for you all. Please let us know if
there is anything that we can do for you. We love you all

After many years of not hearing about Bro. John Stemen and the family, it saddens me to hear of this event.
I always remember Bro. John as a quiet and dedicated man to God and his family. I am especially fond of the the times we spent at the picnics in Orlando, Florida, fellowshipping and playing softball.
We know that he is in heaven only waiting for the rest of the Bride to get together. We will pray that the Lord will comfort love ones and give strength to the body of believers. God Bless you.
